Sunday is quite possibly my favorite day of the week. I used to hate them because they meant a new work week was beginning, but ever since I started my new job (that I love), I've begun looking at Sundays differently. Now, I use them as a time to reset my mind and body and prepare for the week ahead.
There are so many things you can do on Sunday to help you start your week off on the right foot and to avoid that “Monday scaries” feeling.
Do the laundry
We’re usually bad about letting laundry pile up during the week, so the first thing we do after getting up and taking the pups out is to start on the laundry. There’s something so refreshing about having all of your clothes nice and clean for the start of the new week.
Clean the house
We keep the house pretty clean during the week, but on Sunday, we do a deep clean. Wash the sheets, wipe down all the counters and sanitize them, clean out the refrigerator, etc. You’ll go into the week feeling like everything is organized and a clean slate.
Create a to-do list
If there is anything important that needs to get done during the upcoming week, I’ll go ahead and write it in my planner. I’ll go ahead and schedule which days I’ll be writing blog posts, hosting Beautycounter socials, appointments, and any important work deadlines.
Sunday is our day to go grocery shopping. Usually, we head over to Aldi to stock up on some fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, and any snacks we’ll need for the week. I use this as my opportunity to sort through our refrigerator and freezer, making space for all the new groceries.
Spend time with family
Once we have everything done for the day, my husband and I spend the rest of the day being lazy on the couch, watching TV. There’s nothing quite like sitting on the couch, relaxing before the next long week. We also use this time to disconnect and just enjoy some time together.
Sunday night is when I take a little time for myself. So when I hop in the shower, I diffuse some essential oils, and put on some music to help myself relax. After my shower, I exfoliate my face, apply my favorite Overnight Resurfacing Peel, and then moisturizer. This is my favorite way to relax during the week.
