The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies


Last week, I had a rough week, so I decided that making some chocolate chip cookies Saturday would boost my mood, and my word, it did. There’s something about a warm chocolate chip cookie with a nice cold glass of milk that really makes you feel better. I'll be honest, I attempted to make some cookies last month and they tasted like absolute garbage; I fixed my recipe and came up with these ooey, gooey chocolate chip cookies.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp of salt

  • 1 stick of butter, softened

  • 1 tsp of baking soda

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1.5 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 1 crushed up large Hershey bar

Instructions

  1. Line up all of the ingredients

  2. Preheat over to 375 degrees (this may vary based on your oven type)

  3. Sift the flour to remove any lumps - no one likes a lumpy cookie

  4. Combine all dry ingredients in a mixer and then add in the softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract

  5. Let that mix for 4-5 minutes, or until the dry ingredients are completely mixed in

  6. Line a baking sheet with some parchment paper

  7. Scoop out the dough into 1 inch balls and place 6 on the baking sheet and cook for 10 minutes (this may differ with your oven, so start watching them once they’ve been in there for 8 minutes

  8. When you take them out, place them on a cooling rack. Note: They will still be gooey, but will set once they cool

  9. Pour yourself a glass of milk and enjoy!
